Our Approach to Your Privacy
Tucson Lodge #9 of the Knights of Pythias is a community fraternal organization dedicated to Friendship, Charity, and Benevolence. We take the privacy of our members, prospective members, and everyone in the Tucson community very seriously.
As a fraternal order, much of the information we hold about our members is sensitive by nature. We practice strong data minimalism: we only collect information that is necessary to operate the lodge, respond to inquiries, and carry out our community service work.
What We Collect
- Contact and inquiry information — When you reach out through the contact form, email, or phone, we receive your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the content of your message. This is currently the primary personal information we collect.
- Membership interest — If you express interest in joining or learning more about the Knights of Pythias, we may collect basic contact details to follow up.
- Event participation (future) — When we add event registration or RSVP features, we may collect names and contact information solely for coordinating lodge events and activities.
- Local storage (future preferences) — If we implement theme or accessibility preferences, we may use your browser’s localStorage. This is strictly for improving your experience on this site and involves no tracking or sharing with us or third parties.
- Nothing else — We do not use analytics cookies, tracking pixels, Google Analytics, advertising networks, or any third-party tools that profile visitors.
How We Use Your Information
The information you provide is used only for:
- Responding to your questions, membership inquiries, or requests for information
- Coordinating lodge activities, events, and community service projects
- Maintaining necessary internal records for the operation of a fraternal organization
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or any commercial purpose.
Legal Basis (GDPR)
When you are in the EU/UK or when GDPR applies, we process your information under legitimate interest (responding to people who contact the lodge and operating our community organization) and, where you have given it, consent.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of any data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time (where consent was the basis for processing)
- Object to processing in certain circumstances
To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information on the Contact page or email the address below with the subject “Privacy Request” or “Data Request”. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.
Data Storage & Security
Contact messages are delivered to the lodge via email and may be retained in our records for as long as necessary to provide appropriate follow-up and maintain historical context for lodge operations. We are committed to protecting this information.
When dynamic features are added (contact forms, event tools, etc.), data will be handled through secure Cloudflare infrastructure (Workers, D1, or similar) with appropriate access controls.
Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.
